Default Mold?

Hello guys,

I have 2018 model, I just noticed some kind of green mold between the cabin and the bed. I'm planning to keep this truck for a while, anything should be done about it?

Your truck likely isn't growing mold... it's an environmental contaminant. Next time you wash the truck, spend a little extra time with the pressure washer and blast it all off.

Good idea! This is some kind of soft fabric, do you know what is it?

If memory serves, it's some sort of acoustic treatment.

Algae? Do you park in the shade a lot and live in a damp climate?

Yes, it looks like algae. Yes, most of the year the truck in the shade, under the trees.

Right. I think I should be careful with the power washer, not to damage it.

I’d just hit it with some extra soap and a bit of water pressure next time you wash it.

Looks like the truck was parked in a very well shaded area with low air flow. Got a spot in my yard that does the same thing to my trailers when parked there.

One part bleach four parts water, keep the affected area wetted with it for about an hour. Hit with a pressure washer after, make sure you know where the rubber vent is located so you don't spray that, just hose that area down.

There are brushes made for scrubbing the cab/bed gap if you want to try that. Again, be aware of the vent location, you don't want to pop it out as it's a pain to get back in.
