Default Melted drain plug?

Purchased used 2020 f150 and did my first oil change on it. When I pulled the OEM drain plug, one of the "wings" snapped off with VERY little pressure and I noticed the other side that did not snap off was melted. I couldn't find any others that looked the same, do I need to show this to a ford dealer and get this documented or is there anything I can/should do at all? Fortunately, I had already purchased a spare from autozone and was able to still change the oil and drive (about 2000 miles since the change, so far its not leaking and I don't see anything melting on the parts that are visible.

Doesn't look melted, looks like someone gouged it with channel locks. No tools are needed. Nothing hot is close to it.

I concur with todd92 as it does appear that some ding-a-ling used pliers to remove it.

I dont understand how that large oddly shaped yellow bubble would happen from pliers/channel locks? Apologies if thats a dumb question, but it looks and feels like melted plastic somehow.

Just seems odd and almost like the plastic is bubbled out. I cant wrap my head around how that would come from pliers

It's not melted. Pliers also explains why the other tab snapped off.

It was probably warm when the pliers were used but there isn't enough heat to melt it. The o-ring and the seat looks ok. The handle portion for the fingers to grab it with are scuffed by something with teeth.

The tab was definitely already loose when I got in there, I certainly didn't use pliers. Its making more sense though now, I appreciate the replies

i wouldnt worry about it, i snapped off a tab on my first oil change...guess im way too strong, lol. There are videos of people using pliers and that plug looks like "something" was used to remove it

Id just install a new plug and roll on
