Is it me?
So, I have been emailing and chatting with a few dealerships about a new Lariat. And, it’s unreal to me, none of these dealerships really seem to care if they sell a truck or not.
Sticker on a 501A was $58,xxx best out the door they came back with was a “no haggle, no negation of $55,xxx” I passed.
Next dealer - 502A blue box - $61,xxx said the best they could do was $58,xxx.
Am am I missing something, maybe rebates are not that great? Neither of these dealers know I have PCO (in my wife’s name) but I would have thought they we would a little more egger to sale. Maybes it’s an NC thing.

You will almost always get a better deal showing up in person. Once the salesman knows you are serious, the deals get much better. They get lots of "Internet" inquiries it is impossible for them to separate the serious ones from the curious. The game dealers like to play taking up a lot of your time at the dealership works both ways.

So I drive from Amarillo down to Midland yesterday going through some of the energy development areas. I now have a clearer understanding of just how insignificant my one truck purchase really is to companies like Ford.
You go "Jason Bourne" because that allows you to get the actual selling price down to as absolutely low as the dealer will go. You don't divulge your name, address, email address, nothing. Get a final, bottom line OTD sale price in writing from the dealer first THEN give them your incentives and rebates you qualify for and the PCO. If you give up the fact that you qualify for $5,000 in savings off the price, they might only give you $3,500 off MSRP because they know that that is a total of $8,500 off and the buyer will be ecstatic..... rather than giving you $5,000 off MSRP to begin with and then you dropping the hammer and getting an additional $5,000 off. You just made $1,500 easy-peasy.
I saw an example of a $60,450 Lariat in Texas (6.25% tax rate on new vehicles) that was $56,136.96 out the door. That was everything, all fees and taxes. No trade. Write the check and drive off.
I hope that helps.
