Default May 2017 Pickup Sales

F-series, and Ram sales up for May 2017, GM Silverado and Sierra sales continue to drop! Word must be continuing to spread about their vibration problem that can’t be fixed. Either that or people are learning that the Silverado and Sierra don’t have the following features that are available on the Ford F-series:
1) Blind Spot Monitors
2) Adaptive cruise control
3) Rear HVAC vents
4) Keyless ignition
5) DOHC, 4 valve/cylinder engines

The Europeans have had DOHC, 4 valves/cylinders for 60+ years. What they didn't have back then was VVT.

I thought we were talking about the big 3 pickup trucks. Or at least I was haha. Though I'm no expert, so ignore my ignorance.

I'm sorry, GM and RAM still don't have DOHC, 4 valve/cylinder gas V-8s.

No ignorance, good post!

The simple presence of DOHC and 4 valves per cylinder was not a factor in my decision between brands. I still preferred the push-rod GM 6.2L over all other engine options, but for points 1-4 as well as a lot of other details that GM seemed to overlook, Ford was still the clear winner. Things like the LED tailgate light, better integrated bed lighting, mirror spotlights, lane keep assist, trailer pro backup, auto-parking and other tech items made the Ford seem years ahead of the GM twins.

lol I'm the opposite. I wanted none of those, But did want back-up camera, VVT, and 32-Valve DOHC. And that's what I got. A 301A XLT 5.0L.

We both wanted very different features and yet we bought the same brand/model truck. That is a big reason FMC has been the king of the truck world for a long time.

What, the Chevy doesn't have second row HVAC vents? At all? That's nuts. It was one of the best features on my 2012 when kids or any living creature was in the second row. You can get away with that in some vehicles, but the huge interior size of the Crew cab F-150 make have vents a very welcome thing.

agree. The 6.2 is a better truck engine than the 5.0. Gets good mpg too...

My 2015 Silverado had the vibration, and it got fixed... also had collision alert and lane keeping systems.
