Default MAF sensor CEL question

Hey guys just got a CEL in my truck, i pulled the code and got a P0113.
I looked at the MAF sensor and the wires are broken to the sensor. I have no idea how this would have happened but I attached a picture below. Are any of your guys push on wire connector taped around it supporting the wires like mine? I’m just wondering if when I had it in the dealer last for an oil change if they did it and just taped it up hoping it would hold.

Thanks

Rats!

Your map sensor is in the top of the intake manifold. Not that one.

Chances are you will have to pay out of pocket to fix that so if you are handy just and the wires long enough you can pull the connector apart and reattach.

This may help if you choose to make repairs yourself. The 2 individual wire terminals are not available but a repair pigtail is available

IAT sensor, shows how much I know. Thanks guys. So this will fall outside of warranty then and should fix myself? I think there is enough left on the wire I should be able to solder together.

I would buy the pigtail and replace it. I am thinking there is a reason they went to the problem of engineering and manufacturing one. I bet the service tech's break them all the time.

It couldn't hurt to try the dealer if you have a good relationship they might just take care of it for you.

Generally speaking rodents are not covered under warranty.

Installing the replacement pigtail connector is not difficult. Be sure to match the correct color wires, as per the diagram I posted, to the pin # on the connector, solder or use a high quality crimper to connect the pigtail connector to the harness, followed up by heat shrink and tape the harness. Crimpable butt splices and heat shrink will be included with the pigtail connector.

Ya i'm taking it in for an oil change tomorrow so i'll ask about it. I'm not sure about the rodents, I run a pretty tight ship in my garage and i've never seen mice but you never know. That why I was just wondering if anyone else's had tape around the connector.
I'm sure i'll just end up ordering the pigtail and fixing it myself. Thanks for the diagram tmcolegr.

Too me that looks like classic rodent chewing. You can almost see how they were gnawing on it.
Some of the wiring insulation is made with a soy based product which for the more fancy mice is a delicacy.
Your garage may be spotless and rodent free but not everywhere you park like work is.

I would solder a pigtail on, wrap with good 3M electrical tape and you should be all good.
I would definitely look at other wiring under the hood both on top and underneath just to be safe.
