Had only one fob when I bought my XLT. Lost key, tow truck dragged onto his bed and took to dealer.

Hit up a few local locksmiths. There is at least 1 in my area that can cut and program a blade key. They come to you. Contrary to popular belief it CAN be done.

Go a website car and truck remotes you'll save big $ on new ones and most lock smiths can program them or may stock them. I bought one on Ebay and had a locksmith cut it for $2 and programmed myself through the dash menu.

Default Doubt it

I seriously doubt any locksmith would do it . He doesn’t have a key at all. And to that, locksmiths want 100 minimum to come , at least in my town.

Yes, mobile automotive locksmiths can cut and program keys on location. Even in an all keys lost situation. Call around for options in your area. It will save you from a tow.

Meh, the Dealer will get you running. Next time, call a locksmith. It would have been a whole lot cheaper.

I called my local independent repair shop since dealer was too busy to contact me, and it would have required a tow to get there which no one was willing to do. The local shop gave me the name of his towing company, and that towing company gave me the name of a local locksmith. So I now have two keys for the price of the dealer's one key, and I didn't need a tow. Thanks to all you guys who gave me some good feedback. This is a good forum.

My insurance is great and to pay nothing
$500 is less than or equal to most peoples' dedictibles. If you have a $0 deductible, then you've already paid much more than the cost of the fobs in excess premiums, and the insurance just gave you back a fraction of the money you could have saved.

$100 is a LOT less than a tow plus what the dealer charges for a new key.
