Default Locking Tailgate?

I see the "key hole" is gone on the tailgate of the 2015? Is there an electronic lock that replaced it? or is it just gone? Can you still lock your tailgate?

It's an electric lock. No more key hole.

So if your battery dies and the tail gate is locked, guess you're SOL

Seems that way. Better keep those jumper cables under the seat.

It's standard for every trim level except XL.

I realize I'm dragging up a thread from the dark ages, but is there a way to disable the tailgate lock? I open and close the tailgate many times every day, and it's getting old trudging up to the truck and trying to dig in your pocket for the fob to unlock the tailgate with an armload of stuff. No problems opening the tailgate with an armload of stuff... I have many years of practice with that.

I imagine you can unplug the harness in the tailgate. Probably your best bet.

Wouldn't that disable the backup camera? Or are there two plugs, one for the camera and one for the lock. I suppose I could swing down there and check myself, or open the tailgate cover to access the lock and unplug the lock actuator in the tailgate.

I was hoping there was an easy way of doing it. Maybe a menu option in settings.

There should be a plug on the lock actuator itself. So take the panel off the tailgate panel and unplug from there
