I'm not sure if it can do anything with the tailgate, but if you go to settings on your information screen, there are a couple options to disable/enable autolocking features. Might want to check that out. Not sure if that would help

Open up the access panel on the inside of the tailgate and unplug the lock solenoid, I don't think there is an easier way to disable it

The tailgate wiring must go to the front of the truck on one side or the other. So you could add an interrupt switch in the bed or cab that would just keep the tailgate lock from operating.

Won't they steal your tailgate?

I wished there was a tailgate unlock button on our dashes too, rather than digging through our pockets while we're seated. I do that all the time! By the time I have dismounted myself from the truck, the tailgate is open.

I find it easier to use the keypad to open the tailgate, rather then going into the house to get my keys.

But I did notice that with my spare fob in the console the tailgate wasn't locking but the doors were when using 7/8 - 9/0 buttons to lock truck doors.

So while seated, can you use the door unlock button to unlock the tailgate?

Feather yes, any unlock on the truck will unlock the tailgate. Double click unlock with with key fob or inside truck.

We need to be careful not to confuse lock unlock with opening. When talking about the tailgate.
