That would depend on if the times I liked it count.

Although this is a pre-collision error message thread I'll help derail it into a headlight thread.

If a person doesn't want auto-lights to be on, simply rotate the headlight dial to "on" instead of Auto. Auto bights will not function in 'on position.

Of course most people prefer auto lights which is totally fine for you. However, if the automatic system is too much to deal with, while it is already dark and a person is driving, they can easily turn to "on". Lights will remain lit, driver doesn't need to remove eyes from the dark road and does not have to be concerned with their safety.

Later that evening at home, you may be troubled to turn off your lights .
The following night when you can't see, you will eventually recall having turned 'off' your lights the night before.
It's really a non-issue.

To me, offering a feature that works well but implementing it poorly is not necessarily a non-issue....because essentially sprinkling sand on my privates is an issue to me.
I'd rather not have it at all in which case it would be a non-issue.

Also what is the *** on the front center of dash under the windshield (shown in pic 2)?
I believe the first picture is of the rain sensor for auto wipers. This is where mine is located on a 2016 lariat . Don’t know if it changed on the newer trucks

Thank you for replying, but sometimes people would just like help diagnosing their problem, not a recommendation to just take it to the dealer. Different strokes for different folks. I, personally, like to try and fix things, thats me, before I take it to a dealer who throughout life I've learned though they may know more than me, usually careers about your vehicle and dont treat it as kindly as someone does their own vehicle. Again, everyone is different. But , ik just looking for other peoples ideas of what may be wrong. I feel this is turning to a back and forth conversation about life philosophy, so let's just try and stick to the what may be wrong with the truck advice, thanks.
My point here was that the defroster lines could not be your problem, since they are in exactly the same place they were when your sensor system was working, and in any case thin defroster lines don't block the sensor (or else they would not have been used there). New problems are almost always related to new conditions - one thing changes in response to another thing changed. Unless you have a pile of snow or leaves in front of your sensor locations, your problem is electronic. If it eases your mind, I happened to look at my windshield this weekend and my defroster lines in front of the wiper sensor are also slightly crooked. Not a big deal since they are almost invisible.
