Which level kit and why?
I ran into this confusion for my 04 as well, I can't decide which level kit to go with. Why the rancho shocks vs a spacer? If it's a spacer, does brand really matter? Wanting to get 1 thread for all these questions and answers
If spacer I vote Rough Country cause why not. The spacers are all mostly the same (just an aluminum block) Shocks or coilovers are going to be better than spacers as they aren't just hyperextending your control arms. Only time this will matter though is if your tires ever leave the ground (or come close) if you drive to the mall and back, spacers are probably fine (and a lot cheaper).
I have spacers, love how they transformed the look of my truck for super cheap. I plan on doing Boss Coilovers some time this year for added performance and aesthetics.

I just received my Auto Spring level kit in mail today. There are LOTS of people on this forum that use these. I had Rough Country on my last truck and never had any problems with it, although all I could see for this truck was the 2 1/2 level kit on their website.
I guess I've looked at every picture on this forum with a level kit, and the craziest thing is I can't see much difference between the 1 1/2'', 2'', and 2 1/2'' level kits.
I ended up ordering the 1 1/2 level. All the pictures that had the 1 1/2'' looked almost
level and much much better.

Since you bring this up, is there a benefit to using steel (more durable, less flex, etc etc) again aluminium?
I have heard people say get steel and dont get uretane, something to do with flex, durability, etc.
I plan on doing occasional light off roading but mostly the thing will try and conquer the urban jungle.
I was tempted to do this

but how good can 200 dlls shocks be? I have my doubts.
Thanks

I have used autospring leveling kits in all my ford f150s and never had on problem with them. Autosprings design has a offset in it so the coilover won't hit the upper a arm like some "cheap" or eBay special leveling kits. If you look at the 4 or 6" lift kits they all have a strut spacer that is offset and I would bet it is for that reason, so for me there is no way I would ever install a leveling kit that doesn't have the offset. If you want a autospring 2.5" leveling kit I have a brand new one in the for sale section for sale for cheap.
I've installed at least five different brands ranging from $40-$80 and all were metal. They're all a chunk of metal with studs in the, I wouldn't pay twice as much for the same thing.

Exactly what I have for my 2012. Check out my build thread link in my sig for pics. No complaints at all, the shocks were a bit better then my stock ones and the stance is incredible for only $200. Its a great kit if you dont off road much. If you do plan on offloading more, go with some adjustable shocks/coilovers. As for the material of the spacer, it really doesn't matter. The aluminum isn't going to flex or anything, its just pancaked in there.
