Any leads on a US set? Doesn't look like the set you posted will ship to US.

I had issues with those from the vendor.

That's what I noticed when I lamin-X the morimoto fogs with yellow film. It looked like I lost a bit of output but maybe it's my eyes. I also lamin x my OEM leds with a blue film to match my truck and output seems the same.
It's been crazy foggy this morning blackboost. Just wait til the weekend, gonna see +7/8 degrees Celsius. Great day to take headlights apart

I'm not gonna take the headlights out again, they're fine, and I think these LED's are going to stay in because I'm very happy with them. If I get my hands on a similar set with warmer color, I might swap them out. Where did you get the Lamin-X from?
I'll do a quick search on Amazon.com. You should be able to find a set that looks the same with a different brand on it. Like most things, they're all made overseas and branded by different companies.
But, looking at the pics in my first post, they stick out too far to fold back inside unless you get a larger cap. The strips never got too hot to hold, and I imagine halogen bulbs get much hotter, but halogen bulbs also don't touch the plastics behind the reflector so I can't say for sure what would happen.
I will say that the bulb itself where the LED chips are, do not produce much heat at all. When I had some condensation inside (like mentioned in my OP) I had to run the lights on with the highbeams to warm up the assembly. I touched the lens in front of the highbeams and it was pretty warm, but the lens where the lowbeam LED was, was still icy cold. That's why I ran the highbeams to get the condensation out.

Blackboost, got the lamin-x professionally installed by tint factory. They got different films and do good work. I was actually thinking of doing the morimoto fogs as well to match headlights

The downside to films and other filters is you end up losing some of your light output by blocking the unwanted wavelengths. "White" LED's are mostly blue and yellow light, so a yellow filter would just block the blue light resulting in less overall light. Similar to the idea behind blue coating halogn bulbs but reversed.
