UPDATE: Dealer told me that the parts are back ordered nationally. One part of the rails is scheduled to ship on the 30th, and the other part on January 3rd. Must be A LOT of pano roof replacements happening! In the meantime, my roof is closed and broken and make awful noises. Ugh. The struggle is real.

I'm still interested if anyone here has knowledge of them now doing these replacements without dropping the headliner? This is supposed to be a new/improved way of completing the repair.

I found opening and closing mine will make the rattle go away for a few weeks. Annoying though since I never use it, and wish I never had it.

UPDATE: My dealer whose tasked with fixing my broken pano roof called and told me that the new rails needed for the repair are on national back order and won't be in until the end of January at the earliest. Can someone here confirm this or maybe is having the same issues? I find it suspicious that the parts to repair a pano roof are so hard to come by. Is Ford having that much difficulty with sunroofs that they can't manufacture enough replacement parts? Frustrated in Amarillo, Texas. UGH!

Depends on who is making the parts, Ford isn't as they are all outsourced.

Got it in last Friday & got it back on Saturday morning. Tracks were replaced originally & it caused a loud pop with every open of the sunroof.

Guides have been replaced now.

Functions smoothly & no rattles so far. Have not opened it since I picked it up, aside from a function check at the dealer. Waiting on a temp swing to see if the rattles return.

Edit: I had called about the guides, which were on backorder, and was originally told they wouldn't be in until mid-Jan.
Got a letter from the parts dept the next day saying my parts were in.

Upon pressing my dealer; the parts that they've decided are broken are FL3Z1651070A and FL3Z1651071A. They are a lift strut of some sort within the mechanized parts of the pano roof, so I'm told. They continue to be "back ordered" until the end of January at the earliest. I'm still not clear on how these parts will fix my non-functioning pano roof, but I guess we'll all find out together! My guess is this is the "cheap" route to try and fix my pano roof. If this doesn't do the trick I'm assuming they'll order an entire replacement? Geez, what a pain the ****!

FL3Z-1651071-A | Guide 278457
FL3Z-1651070-A | Guide 278455

These are the parts I just had replaced on mine as well. One svc guy said they were on backorder until mid-January. Mine came in just after Christmas.

That said, those, along with both tracks have mine operating quietly with no rattles.

Did they have to totally gut your truck to fix it? My service guy is saying that they don't have to in order to replace these two parts.

Mine rattles when it gets to 5 and under. Opening the shade and letting the heat get up in there and eventually it quiets down. When it is warm out I found that opening and closing it will make it stop rattling too. I never use the damned thing, and only when I hear it does it remind me it is there.

Not that I'm aware of. They didn't say/I didn't ask. I also have a Sport, so black headliner would hide most inadvertent fingerprint evidence.
