Default King Ranch Multiple Leather Problems

Anyone else with a King Ranch have issues with their interior?

Mine started the day I picked up the truck. I noticed a weird mark across the drivers seat. It is on the seat back and it actually a mark protruding out of the seat. Pictures are hard to show how it isn't a scratch going into the seat but trust me, it is protruding out of the seat.

I bought the truck from a dealership about 2 miles away only due to them having the truck I wanted. I called it out when I got it and they said they will take care of it. So I decided to take it to my local dealership out of convenience so I don't spend half a day just driving to get my truck fixed.

Well the dealership denied the warranty claim...due to it being leather. Now I am not an idiot I understand that leather can have blems but I paid a premium for the leather in this truck, it is at eye level and there is NO WAY a mark this large 6" should be OK'd by a quality tech.

The dealership tells me to call Ford about it. I call them and after about a month of back and forth, they tell me that there is no way they can overturn the claim. So why even call them??? The rep tells me that the parts manager at the dealership can try to reverse it. He ends up trying and they deny it. He even says it is ridiculous that this is not covered.

So at the same time I notice one of the top bolsters on the passenger seat is WAY loose vs all the other seats. So the dealership gets an OK to tighten that up. Well it is better but still not nearly as nice as the others.

Now yesterday I see my steering wheel is starting to fall apart.

I can't tell you guys how disappointed I am right now in not only Ford but also that a truck with a sticker price of almost $70K can have this poor quality...almost makes me sick and now I am just supposed to deal with it.

I always lusted after the King Ranch but it is turning out to be a horrible decision. Oh and the truck is a 2017 with right now 1700 miles. Yes you read that right...1700 light miles!!!

I attached pictures of the mark on the back of the seat, the steering wheel and then how the bolster should look vs how mine looks.

Our 2017 K/R came in with a "scratch"
in the drivers seat.

I work for the dealership, so "I" took all the protection off the seats etc. It appeared to be a "scratch", just through the top layer of the leather. It was about 3/4" long.

My parts dept., ordered a new one. FORD D E N I E D the claim, BECAUSE it wasn't a inch long!!! HOWEVER, the seat cover was already INSTALLED !!!

IMO, the seat "bump", and definately the steering wheel should be replaced !!!!

We gave just under $70k, and I "expect" to be taken care of !!!!!!!!

I've got that EXACT mark in the seat bottom of my passenger seat! I chocked it up to my dog scratching the leather! This is in a 2016 Lariat. Oh well, just gives me more incentive to order custom Katskinz at some point.

I would be disappointed as well. The cheap cloth in my XLT appears to be better quality than that. At least it is smooth and uniform.

I have no idea what is up with that steering wheel. I've seen them like that many times... after 7 years and 100k miles.

If it looks that way after 1700 miles you either have acid coming out of the pores in your skin or that is a materials defect if I have ever seen one.

Thanks for the input. I am just truly disappointed in both the overall quality in the truck but what is even worse is the lack of Ford's customer service to rectify the problem.

2016 king ranch with 26,000 miles. My leather is still perfect. I do put leather dressing on it and don't get it wet. A few creases gear and there don't bother me.
