Default Kicker Sub

For those who have the Kicker sub? do you feel it is worth the price, $695. Does it improve the sound in the base XLT Radio? Any feedback is welcome.

Default Kicker VSS S150SC15 Substage Powered Subwoofer

You are talking about the Kicker VSS S150SC15 Substage Powered Subwoofer correct? I installed this kit as the 1st mod to my Lariat with MFT non-Sony radio. It made a huge difference in the sound. All other mods made to the radio since have helped (speakers and clarion amp) but the subwoofer made the most difference. I purchased mine thru stage3motorsports.com around Black Friday and they gave me an extra discount so I paid less. If you call them they often can give you a better price.

I did the full upgrade AMP, speakers, sub. It was like day and night. I got mine for a lot less. There was a vendor Rouge Ford, whole kit 399.00. It was all plug and play.

I got the Kicker Hideaway for $244, installed for 80. it fits behind the rear seat and it still folds up. Sound is much better and worth it, but not sure how it compares to the factory offered kicker.

Nope not worth it. I wouldn't buy it again. If you want to do the Kicker VSS upgrade you cannot buy the kit without the sub. I know, because I tried, so I just bought an amp and all new speakers. Get it without and then do the VSS upgrade or just buy amp and sub seperately. On my 2011 I had a powered sub that worked well, and it was much less than $699.

No, not worth it for the price. You can do a full upgrade yourself for much less. I put a 10inch Sub, amp, all four new speakers in door with another amp...installed for only 520.00....

Coming from the audio world I think it's worth it over the stock system. You get an improvement but it's not like having a custom system built. Now adays I try and get factory or something easy so I don't have to spend time doing an install. This is the first truck where I used an "out of the box" solution. I'm happy with it. I wish the amp was a LITTLE more powerful as some of my music I still can't max the volume out on (volume isn't as loud with factory radio as with an aftermarket)... yet the amp can't quite keep up sometimes... but it's worth it I think.
