Default Keyless entry remote

On my 2015 all of a sudden my remotes will not work to lock or unlock the doors unless I am stood no more then 6 inches from the side of the truck and holding the remote next to the pillars. Both remotes are the same. If I am inside the truck and the remote is on my knee it will not work unless I hold it up in the middle of the truck. Any idea what is happening. It seems like a distance issue. Anyone else ever have this issue?

The first thing that comes to mind is the battery inside the fob. But if both are doing it, then it's possible it could be something else. Now and again my fob won't remote start. I disconnect the negative on the battery for about 10 minutes, and that usually fixes it.

No I haven't replaced them yet. One of the remotes has never been used since I got the truck. With both doing the same thing I am thinking it's not the batteries. What do you think.

Yeah could be bad batteries. used or not. I would check it first. Cheapest and easiest route to go

I'll give it a try and replace both batteries.

This. Batteries slowly drain over time. That is why something you never use for years will have a dead battery next time you go to use it. Limited range is usually the first symptom of a depleting battery in the FOB.

My truck did the same thing two weeks ago, and it was the batteries 2 - 2025's in each remote. Started with lock & unlock, then No Key FOB detected over night.

Changed batteries no difference. Here is the weird thing, when I moved the truck from the side of my house it worked normal. Went to get the batteries and in the parking lot of the shop it worked normal with good distance. When I put the truck back by the side of my house it wouldn't work unless about 6 inch from truck. Put truck at the end of the driveway and it works normal. Is there something interfering with the frequency of the remote? This is really weird.....

That's what it sounds like.
