Keyless code
I just bought a 2016 F 150 off lease, the truck came with just one key and no key code for the keyless entry system. Does anyone know where I can find the 5 digit key code ? I was told it is hidden somewhere on the truck.
When you have two keys you can recover the code thru the display. You will need a dealer to recover it thru the system if it's not written somewhere. Same with a second key, a dealer will have to program it. Life's easier with two, then you can recover and program at home. If you bought it from a Ford dealer hopefully they'll help you out.
I learned this here, last Monday with my new truck. Take both of your keys, insert 1st into ignition, turn to on. Then do same with 2nd key, code will display in gauge cluster screen.
@Toddman34...he only has one key
Not sure if it's the same as my 2010, but if you take the kick panel off on the passenger side, there's a box there with a sticker on it that has the 5-digit code. On mine, it was the number ending with an "L". Kind of difficult to read it where it's at (back side of that box), but if you focus on it a minute, you'll get it...or you could call your 17 y/o daughter out who has perfect vision to confirm what you already know it to be.
My local Ford dealer was going to charge me $75 to recover the code for me.

I have had my 2015 almost a year without the code because the dealer lost mine and the local dealer wanted 70 bucks to recover.. Just tried the two key trick and it worked like a charm. Thanks for the tip!
Another tip is if you only have one key get a third now. You can program up to (8) keys if memory serves me, but the key (pun intended) is to have at least three so you can easily program more without paying the dealer to hook up, clear codes and reprogram if you lose one. I just had my local dealer order a non remote (plain) chipped key with the right cut and programmed it at home and put it in the safe. This way I have one to use for dealer drop offs or the wife to take if we travel and still have a "pair".
