The dealer will replace this one way or another. I have no problem spreading the word via corporate emails and in the small home town about the negative interaction by the dealers actions.
They are the only ford dealer in the area. They do not want the bad press.
It is way above the tint area. At least 1.5". Doesn't sound like much but that's hard to say tint had anything to do with if.
Also, it has started in the top drivers side corner also.
By chance can you attach a few of these other threads where people have had the issue? This will give me more ammo at the dealer.
on my tiny phone right now and I travel for a living so I will have trouble tonight being on my computer. But I will once I get a few mins to myself. You know my girl and kids.
I know this thread is from last year, but it didn't seem like my post needed a new thread. I gave my truck a good once over before I drove it off from the dealer last week, but I missed this. Is this also delamination? Does it warrant a replacement windshield? I can't imagine that it would improve with age.
If that truck was just bought new then I think it was defective from the start, the glass was probably not laminated correctly or air was trapped in between the layers, I think it will get worse as the sun heats the air up in between the layers and it moves around causing more delamination. After viewing this thread again it occurred to me the most likely cause of these windshields delaminating is how the edge of the glass on these trucks is exposed to the weather/moisture where years ago the edges were almost always covered by some sort of trim or weatherstripping. Moisture slowly breaks down the laminating.
