Default Iphone and ipad on sync

My iPhone 6 is connected true Bluetooth with myford sync. It works fine. But now I would like to connect my iPad (for easy use of Spotify) also whit the radio. But wenn I connect the iPad also with Bluetooth, my phone stops being connected.

I can only connect one Bluetooth device at once.

Is it possible to keep my phone working, and play Spotify with the iPad at the same time. So my phone stays always connected.

Hope you can help

There are 3 ways to connect devices. Bluetooth, Iphone cable to USB and Aux In.
I would say you need to mix it up. I usually connect my Iphone thru the USB cable for playing music, but it still connects via bluetooth for phone functions. So that still might tie up bluetooth. But you could connect your Ipad thru another USB cable, or simply use Aux cable (might be simplest, as well as clearest sound I think).

You can connect both, just ensure your iPhone is set as the default device so that it will connect first.

Then you can select the iPad as the Bluetooth audio source, on the following screen. The iPhone will stay connected and you can still make and receive calls.

Hi biclav,

Multiple devices can be paired to the car, but you can only use one at a time. I suggest using the AUX option that seattleguy suggested.

i8iridium,

Thanks for jumping in! biclav has SYNC with MyFord; this does not apply to their system.

Under the entertainment screen, you should see a screen similar to mine, from there you can select the bluetooth audio source. If you play audio from the iPad, the iPhone will remain connected as a telephone device.

Shaay, I am sure you and a lot of other people are already regretting the fact that FORD decided to call the new system Sync3 as people will just refer to it as SYNC no different than those that have MyFord Touch. They just see the SYNC logo and call everything the same.
In this case i8iridium is correct.

Hi biclav,

Looking at your screen, you have the MyFord Touch and not MyFord. i8iridium instructions are correct. Select ENTERTAINMENT then BT STEREO. You should be given the option to choose your device. Let me know if this works.

i8iridium,

Looks like you were correct!

Gadgitz,

It's not too much of a struggle.
