iPhone contacts sync with SYNC3
I have a '17 Lariat and I found that after I changed a contact in my phone, that the truck did not recognize the change. I'd go to the contacts page on the truck and there, sure enough, is the old contact info. I deleted the phone from the truck and deleted the BT device on my phone; then repaired them. It took a while but it then re-sync'd my contacts.
Is that what I have to do every time someone gives me a new phone number for their contact? What am I missing? There should be a way to force it to re-sync without going through all the trouble of un-pairing and re-pairing.

Just reboot Sync. Press and hold the radio power button and the forward seek button at the same time for a few seconds, and Sync will reboot. Or turn off the ignition and open and close the driver door. Wait a few seconds and then turn the ignition back on. When Sync comes back up, it will reload your contacts. (Sync does this at every restart).
I also saw my contacts reload once after just turning bluetooth off and then back on (on the phone), but I'd have to try it again to see if that's normal behavior.

Are you guys sure that yours are staying up to date? Try changing a contact and then going back out and trying to access it in the truck. The contacts are always there but it's the version of the contacts that were in my phone the day I first sync'd it. It's never updated since and yes, I have always had the option turned on for auto-sync. You'll know it when it's doing it because it'll tell you that it's syncing and it'll possibly take a while if you have a lot of contacts (I have several hundred). I'm not sure I want it to do it every time I get in the car because it does take a while to load them. But I'd like an easier way than unpairing and repairing my phone.
jp2012, none of those things worked in my truck to get it to refresh the list of contacts with the new information I had in my phone. It was always the old list when I looked at it.
Where this became obvious to me is that my sister recently got married and changed her last name. I changed it in my contacts but it was never recognized in the truck until I unpaired and repaired the phone.

I have “auto download contacts” enabled on Sync, as well as “sync contacts” enabled on the Bluetooth Sync connection on my phone.

Have you tried doing a manual update from Sync3? It's the 'Re-download Contacts' button being pointed to in the image Cuch posted above.
