Default Intelligent access door opening sensor not working

have a 2018 F-150 Lariat with the passenger side IA lock not working. It start out intermittentmy and now all the time. The 1st time the Ford engineers said to take the actuator from the other driver's side door and use it to replace in the passenger door.. It did not work but now my LEDs on the driver's side door do not work as the tech failed to plug them back in I assume. The BCM has been replaced and it woked for about a day. Now Ford has my truck again taking to the engineers but a whole day went by with not respinse on the hot line.. Ford just does notknow what the problem is. I'll keep you updated. Is there a fix?
Ford has now had my truck for just over two weeks. The good part is that after having it one week they called and offered a loaner.
The body control module did not solve the issue. The last thing they tried was to replace the door handle which required painting.. everything that was done was done based on a text message from a Ford engineer which usually took a day or two to happen. Finally yesterday after a Ford engineer actually talked to the tech they claim it is working but wanted to keek it to check if intermittent errors pop up again.. I should be getting a call soon to pick my truck up.. Do I feel good that it will work and nothing else is messed up... well the answer is NO. I stiill will not know the final solution for a bit.
It is now January 4, 2019 and Ford of Orange has had my truck for two periods of time. The 1st for a week and now it will be 5 weeks next Tuesday. The Ford engineers can not fix the issue. My truck was ordered in July 2017 and I recieved it in Sep 2017. It was one of the 1st ones made. The actuator was swapped out, the BCM was replaced, the door handle replaced, the wire harness from the door to the BCM replaced and ow the 5th week is approaching with Ford engineers still stumped and thinking about replacing a wire harness in the dash.. Yikes.. my poor truck. Please Ford ..figure this out for us.. It is not just one person. This will be my final edit to my original post. The entire wire harness in the truck was replaced..Dash, doors, under seats. Ford has returned my truck. The IA now works but the drive mode switch on the shift lever does not work. Ford is buying back my truck without any more effort to fix anything. I never thought such a simple thing could have turned out this bad.

I have a 2018 F-150 Lariat as well and IA is not working. Was working fine until recently and now it's intermittent. I have an appointment Dec 21st to have ti looked at. This morning neither doors AI worked. After driving to work, I tried it and it was back to working. Very annoying.

I'm experiencing the same issues: intermittent function of the "intelligent" unlock feature in my 2018 F150 Plat. Very frustrating having to fish the keys out of a winter jacket at -20C when it's supposed to unlock by putting my hand in the door handle per the window decal instruction.... Yet sometimes it will work, but lately more often than not it fails to work as designed.

Short of taking it to the dealer has anyone found a DIY fix?

I thought I had workaround for the issue by sliding my hand on the inside of the handle but it's not working consistently. I find the issue happens when the handle is wet and cold. The lock function usually still works when I notice the unlock doesn't. I try that as a test to confirm key signal isn't being blocked by anything. I'll setup an appointment for the Engine block heater recall and have them look at this as well.

That describes the issue I'm experiencing perfectly. Unfortunately here in the frozen north it's both..... COLD and WET!

Guess I'll have it checked when it goes in for the same recall also.

Any word on the fix for this issue? I have no codes set and I am thinking about taking the door panel off to inspect the connections.

I have a 2018 Lariat experiencing the same issue. It had occurred a few months back and now it sparked up again.

Dealer claims there were no codes thrown and in their opinion it appears to work properly. Weird.
Plus note, even though they say they did nothing, the intelligent access has been functioning since coming back from the dealer.
On a negative note, the driver's door has been frozen either open or shut. Their lubricate everything "fix" had no effect. Next step is to replace all door mechanisms with new parts. Clock is ticking..

I was experiencing the same issue earlier tonight where the intelligent access was locking and unlocking intermittently or only on certain spots. This was happening at the restaurant and today was a wet and rainy winter day. Frustrated with it, I locked it up and walked into the restaurant. When we were done dinner, i cleaned the back and front of the door handle with plain old tap water and wiped it down with my microfibre cloth, and presto! Works totally normal now! So I’m guessing that intelligent access is really sensitive to moisture and the wet drive to the restaurant was goofing up the intelligent sensor. When I was spraying the door handle with water, it was locking and unlocking on its own.

Put fob in pocket. Turn on hose and spray doors and watch and listen. Lock, unlock, lock, unlock....
