Default Installing navigation update

I received a notice that a navigation update is available for my 2020. I just paid $40 to order the usb and printed the instructions. Any suggestions from those who have done the update, other than to follow the instructions?

The two key factors are to leave the vehicle running the entire time and do not pull out the USB until you get a static pop up message stating the update is done and you may remove the usb (meaning the unit does NOT reboot on its own ). It will reboot on its on a couple or few times but it is IMPORTANT to wait to pull the USB until that final message comes up and stays there without rebooting.

Don't be in a rush. Wait until you see the screen the update is done and you may remove the USB. Also, you can drive while the USB is uploading, but as jm061 said, the engine must be running. This can take 45 minutes or longer, but past updates have taken less.

Does the engine have to be running, or can the ignition be in the on position?

I would....it said to disable the auto shutdown feature if you had it, so I would think the auto stop should be disabled too

Read the instructions. If you do, you will have a successful install.

Yes, the instructions say to turn off the time out. If the engine stops, you will have to start over.

like fallsguy said. Do not remove the usb until the screen says to.

The instructions will say to turn off the truck, and lock the doors. The next time you start the truck, it will finish the install.

Ford does weird stuff with these installs, so follow the instructions to the letter.

Did I mention follow the instructions? Good luck.
