Inexpensive Biometric Safe for Console

KR, wasn't knocking your setup, I was just pointing out that this particular brand is very easy to defeat.
As for the others, ignorance is bliss I suppose. And I also won't respond to childish comments unless they come from my kids, however, they at least know better.

So...I'm neither here nor there for gun control. I lean left...but if you want to bear arms...go for it. I think what you did is awesome with the safe, it's pretty cool and useful for a lot of things. But honestly... at what point and for what situations do you need a safe for your gun in your truck?
To show off your gun to the guy in the lane next to you when he cuts you off (highly illegal)? I'm really not trying to be a smart ***, I'm just having a hard time understanding the need.

All,
I appreciate the feedback both positive and critical. Wasn't my intent to turn this into a second amendment debate. Or the Canadian equivalent?
I think given the basic set up I did, I could easily substitute a better safe quite easily if desired.
As pointed out,I think this set up works for my personal situation but could be modified to suit others.
I have learned SOOO much on this website in the short amount of time I've been on it. I haven't even owned my truck 3 months yet (but I absolutely love it!!). I just want to try to contribute as best I can. Take it or leave it, it is what it is.
Please keep up the great dialogue and I hope to be a contributor as much as I can.
Cheers

Negative Ghost rider, point or purpose is not to expose weapon but simply a place to put it when I can't carry it. I have a concealed carry permit but there are still places in Florida you cannot take a gun, I.e, liquor stores, bars, etc. Also on long road trips it's not comfortable to carry on person but I don't want it visibly out. It has also been pointed out to me if law enforcement should happen to pull you over and ask for registration, insurance, etc. They don't want to see a gun in your glove box when you open it and reach for your paperwork!
Also as I mentioned earlier if I have kids in the truck it HAS to be locked up. and safe doesn't have to contain a gun, my wife routinely leaves her wallet/purse in the car if we go to a store she doesn't think she'll buy anything (like Bass Pro LOL!).

I'm really surprised at the negative responses on this. Sure a thief can get into it if he has time. Most smash and grabs happen quick and the picking a safe lock is probably not in the general game plan of the hoodlum. Also it adds another layer of protection if you have kids in the truck (or anyone else for that matter).
If you do carry in the vehicle a safe is a great idea no matter how defeatable it may be.
Good job OP!

I don't feel anyone cares whether said person is for or against gun control. Don't go getting all feelings hurt over a post on the internet by a person you've never met. Simply stating my assumption/opinion why that same person made the remarks they did.
But, again, OP- great job on the mod.. very useful and looks like serving you well.
