I thought the Ram bed was only 6'4", the F-150 bed is 6'6.9". I know it's only 3 inches shorter, but it might make a difference in having the tailgate up or down.

Default order from the factory

Just place a order with your dealer to get what you want or very close to it. Thats what I did.

I bet that wouldn’t be a popular color combo and they block it out so they don’t end up on lots or bring down the brand value on the second hand market.

There is a reason for most stuff. There is another thread on here about a guy getting a 17 left over ruby red sport with the 18s on it for 35% off; that combo is about as bad as it gets in my opinion.

I would swap the grill and bumpers, super easy. I’d even consider asking the dealer but only if you have patience as that might turn into a complete cluster ***.

I definitely see your point and honestly for what new trucks cost why you can’t option a truck exactly the way you want and pay individual option prices. I get that manufacturers offer packages of popular options and most of them have some kind of discounts offer along with them but if consumers are willing to pay why not provide what they want.

Exactly!!!, I guess I am just old, back in the 60's even on the low cost cars the options were through the roof!, It isn't like they change much else on these trucks, let's face it, trucks have a longer "run" time in terms of product change than anything else, and with the volume they sell they literally make a killing on trucks compared to anything else, to offer some ala cart options would not be the end of the world.

With a Lariat on up you have remote start with climate & heated/cooled seats that will be fine when you get in...take it from someone with a black interior who lives in Southern Cali

Thx, but that isn't the only reason, last 3 trucks were all black,,,,,it's getting old!!! I guess my 2006 Lincoln LT spoiled me, it was burgandy with a beautiful buckskin int. I drove the wheels off that truck. lol

I get your point though on not being able to get what you want. I would probably trade my '16 in on a '19 Platinum IF the Raptor engine was available on the Platinum but I don't want the lower towing numbers on a Limited just to be able to get that engine so hopefully that will change on the 2020.

But I don't want a lot of the electronic crap(power tailgate for one)

What the heck is this power tailgate you speak of? I have a Platinum, and it does not have a power tailgate, would be nice, but still have to close it by hand.

OP I have a magma Red Platinum with the Marsala interior, and like you prefer the lighter colored interior. My 2014 was like that and it felt bright and open and large, and stayed cooler in summer. The Marsala for me is a decent trade off. It's different enough to set it apart from the rest of the crowd. If you haven't seen on in person go check it out, and I think you will like it.

Now here is something that makes me SMH. Ford makes a Platinum Explorer now, and there is no CHROME trim at all. Where there is chrome on the Plat F150 it is the brushed metal trim on the Explorer. Would it really kill Ford to have 4 door handles and two mirror caps in the brushed look for the F150 too? At first, before I got the Plat I was considering getting PTM handles nad mirror caps, but now that I have the truck, it is just enough to give it class without the gaudy look on the Lariats, that is way too much chrome for me. I may still get PTM mirror caps, but I actually like the look of the chrome strip and door handles on the Magma Red.
