Default Hurricane Prep

So here we go......

Really not anything to do I guess but pray. I did take the antenna mast off....just seemed prudent. Wish the truck would fit in my garage but that won't happen. Plus I don't think my wife would appreciate her soft top jeep outside and I definitely won't put my motorcycles outside. So hunker down cause this bitch is coming full steam.

During Harvey, mine was parked on a second floor garage at the airport! Good luck!

Depends on where in Florida you live. If you are in Dade or Broward county I would evacuate now.

not a bad idea. I'm from Houston, and will keep that in mind for next time.

Godspeed to all of those in Florida.

I am in central FL...Lake County. Evacuation is not an option as I am in law enforcement and we have already started our Alpha / Bravo shifts (12 on / 12 off....no days off) Hope she loses some gusto by the time she gets here. It looked better when it was supposed to track farther to the east and not come right up the middle of the state.

You are far enough inland that you should be okay. Stay safe though.

I grew up in the Florida Keys.....where you are at I would just expect a bunch of rain and 70mph winds.

Even if I was in broward or dade I would ride it out, assuming my house was good enough. We rode out a bunch of them in the keys and all was well, but me and my dad built our house and it was STOUT. Wouldnt trust a modular or cookie cutter stick framed house.

I kind of miss a good hurricane, lol

But this one looks legit, I do remember driving thru homestead the day after Andrew and it just looked like a nuclear bomb went off, just rubble as far as you can see.

be safe!
