Does the 2015 have a slip yoke that requires grease?

2015 3.5 EB, 4x4, 3.55 rear end. The slip yoke greasing was covered under warranty and is a fairly simple job, but is really just a temporary fix (if it even works) to cover up an improperly functioning slip yoke. Didn't work on mine, though, so the issue may be something other than the slip yoke. Remains to be seen. There is definitely something out of whack somewhere in the driveline and I am going to keep pushing the dealership until this is resolved. Let us know if you have any luck on your next service visit.

It should not require grease, no. The slip yoke that goes into the transfer case is supposed to be lined with a material that allows it to slide freely. Grease is really a cover up for the ones that don't work as designed for whatever reason.

The exception to this is that in the past, some of the crew cab 6.5' box F150s had a two-piece driveshaft that had a slip yoke on the driveshaft itself which Ford actually issued a TSB for greasing. I don't know if the 2015+ still uses a two-piece driveshaft on the longest wheelbase or not.

The issue with greasing the one-piece driveshaft is that grease put on the driveshaft splines is going into the transfer case output and could conceivably work its way further into the transfer case.

Taking mine to a different dealer. First one didnt respond to csm when asked if they were capable of checking backlash in rear ring and pinion. Going to take to Van Bortal in Rochester,ny. Anyone had any experiences with their service department?

My new 2wd 16' screw 5.0 has the same described issue. I was also told the technician couldn't replicate the described issue last week, I've since elevated this and made an appointment with the service manager for late next week to have another look at this. Have you guys made any headway on this issue?

Ok, took mine to dealer, they test drove said they couldn't hear whine between 55 and 60. They also said the clunking was "NORMAL". So I said I would like to drive another with same engine gear ratio setup. Drove truck and no clunking. This is the 3rd truck i have driven and all had no clunk. Said to tech if its normal why doesn't this truck clunk. He said he didn't know why, said it was one of first trucks he drove that didn't clunk! Hmmm. So then he cleared tranny memory on mine so it will relearn. Said I would drive for awhile and see how it sounds. He said it probably wouldn't fix the clunk but was worth a try. Now I have to see how truck acts and if it does't improve will have to talk to csm again and see what the next course of action is. What a bummer to have a new truck and have to deal with issues. I still think I may have to much backlash in rear differential and that is causing the issue. You would think they could pull off rear cover and check backlash to see if it's right. It's only 3 qts of oil and some labor. If it is, then start looking else where. I will say dealer was very willing to listen to my concerns but still not committing to fixing it. They say they want me to be happy at the end of the day! I'M NOT!!!!

I have an appointment to have mine looked at tomorrow morning with the service manager and I've requested that the most senior technician works on this one. I plan to drive it with the manager and replicate it with me behind the wheel and then let him drive it to confirm. He has arranged a loaner vehicle for me with intentions to keep it a few days to get this figured out. I'll keep you posted.

Great, would appreciate any info on what they come up with. Very frustrating and hard to get anything done. Since they reflashed mine it surges first thing in morning while coasting down hill. Still has same clunking issues also. Do you have clunking or howling?
