These are the ones I was talking about. I have bed lights and the harness I got from Ford did not come with them. I used mine which plugged into the new harness.

Hey guys, 1st of all, awesome write-up! I'm thinking of doing the KR / Raptor non-blis swap on my 2015 XLT. Will I need more than the JL3Z-13A409-G harness for this?

I really hate to add to the length of this thread but just want to make sure I'm ordering the right parts for my 2018 Lariat (halogen lights, bed lights, remote tailgate release), I don't know for certain if I need the C or G harness as I saw one post taking about a different harness for the Lariat. I also saw a post with the part numbers for the tail lights but its different than the one I get when I look up my truck on the Tasca website.

Tail Light part numbers I saw way earlier in this thread:
JL3Z-13404-F (passenger)
JL3Z-13405-F (driver)

Part Numbers when I look things up on Tasca website for a 2018 Lariat:
FL3Z-13405-H - Left Tail Light
FL3Z-13404-H - Right Tail Light

There is also a -C model that pops up sometimes. Can anyone tell me the latest and greatest part number as there is a big price difference between some of them and I want to make sure I'm not getting the King Ranch ones.

Harness

JL3Z-13A409-G
OR
JL3Z-13A409-C

I wish there was a way to update the very first post with a paragraph with the updated way of doing this with the harness and which one is needed. would probably save some posts like mine.

JL3Z-13A409-G is the harness I used for my XLT Sport....as I mentioned I had to use a pigtail off each side from the stock harness for the bed lights I believe it was.

I wasn’t all that tired last night afterwards. I didn’t really feel like rioting. Plus I don’t live in Lubbock anymore. So, I did what I normally do in lieu of rioting… I began the destruction process of some LED Tails W/O BLIS.

Next step will be to separate the layer that has the running light strip area from the outer shell. Looks like I will have to do some more cutting, but at least now I can see what is underneath the shell!

I will say that I will probably pre-cut them with a dremel and plastic cutting wheel attachment next time I need to cut. The soldering iron with a hot knife attachment was a bit tedious, but I do have a crappy soldering iron. I'm thinking I will just cut a groove that doesn't go all the way through the shell with the dremel, and then go back and cut it the rest of the way with the hot knife. Should make it faster, and cleaner.

I wasn’t trying to do anything other than cut them open and look inside. I don’t know what I was expecting, but it was sort of surprising. Here are some pictures some might find interesting....

Finally got the tails installed and they look so much better!!

i was wondering if anyone has tinted the white led strip to be red. I searched google for premade overlays but had no luck. Picture for reference.

Solow,

I actually created a different thread that this question somewhat applies to: https://www.f150forum.com/f83/led-ta...ournal-444196/

I don't believe there is a traditional overlay you can buy to achieve your(our) goal. If you look at the other thread; you'll see what is on the inside of these chingaderas. At Wal-Mart the other night I did see what I think might work, but I didn't buy it since it had amber, clear, and red... Here is a link to what I will be ordering, though:
Amazon Amazon

I was going to see how it looks with a layer of the red in between the frosted white diffuser underlay and the outer shell/lens. I doubt it will completely solve the problem, but it is a start. Your lights are slightly different than the non-BLIS, though. My frosted diffuser strip actually lays directly on the outer shell. Your lights seem to have a housing with the red outer lens welded to the outside of it. Again, the pictures I've posted will help that statement make more sense. Words are hard, yo.

It appears that you have spanking-new lights. If you cut those open already, then you have bigger cajones than me, Sir. I do have a picture earlier in this thread of what yours look like with just the outer shell broken off. FYI.

Speaking of Wal-Mart, did y'all see they are closing 243 stores?!?!?! They were able to transfer 25% of all the employees to nearby stores, but they are going to have layoff the rest. So the other 39 people are going to have find new jobs!!!! So, sad.

So to clarify for my 2018 XLT 302a w/o BLIS:

Tail lights needed are the ebay JL3Z-13404-F JL3Z-13405-FLED's for $492 and the JL3Z-13A409-G wire harness plus some forscan magic?

I like the idea of the king ranch non-BLIS because they don't have the sticker on them, they cost more, and custom wiring has to be done.

Edit- hope I'm good, I just pulled the trigger.

Any idea which these are? I didn't have to do any wiring, or Forscan. Just used the pigtails for the bed lights on the "-G" and good to go.

Still haven’t gotten that film, but here is what red looks like through the lens. Looks like it might actually look ok.
