Default How to remove sun visor?

Here's the deal... I used too much Goo Gone on passenger side sun visor and after the visor dried the visor has a bulge in it. Something must have warped or let go inside - don't know what happened.

Anyway, I have the replacement visor but I don't know how to remove the old one. I have never seen a vehicle like this before where there is no screw to remove to release it. I assume that I need to pry or push on something to get this thing to release, so what exactly do I?

Thanks in advance.

Barry

That cover snaps on over the screws...

The 2015/2016 visor is different than the plastic visor from prior years, I believe it's a foam core. Apparently you may have dissolved some of it or some of the cloth-like cover.

Default Got it off

Thanks, got it off. I was afraid to pry on that thin piece of plastic, but I did carefully remove it and the nut underneath.

I advise that anybody trying to remove warning stickers from visors to be careful with getting the visor too wet because it can cause warp/bulge.

did you heat the stickers up with a hair dryer or anything like that?

Fortunately mine peeled right off without leaving anything behind

Yes, hair dryer and some residue was left behind so I was trying to remove that. Good thing those visors are fairly low cost.

Do the new visors come without the warning stickers? I have a black interior and after peeling the stickers and cleaning the visor there is a faint ghost of the stickers that I just can't seem to get rid of.

Doesn't it just snap in? You are saying there is a screw? Pictures maybe?

I was asking because this is my new one with illuminated mirror and garage door opener. Out of the box it looks like you pry the old one off, which I have been doing. I will use my 7mm instead.

Yes. That screw needs to be removed first. It locks the metal tabs in place so the visor won't vibrate and fall out.
