me too...this is my first automatic trans vehicle and while it's 13 years newer than my old truck, I still love driving the old one on the weekends. I love my new truck, but I miss my manual trans.
SO EB sales are still climbing, at one point in 2015 the 5.0 alone accounted for about 33% with the V6's splitting the rest (which sounds a lot better than the 5.0 and NA 3.5 splitting 36%).
Part of this is because the dealer's are getting more EcoBursts thrown at them. My dealer told me within the last year that when he orders ten F-150's for inventory, he spec's them all with 5.0's, because he may get 2 with a 5.0 if he's lucky. All the rest are EB's, mostly 3.5's. And he has no problem selling V8's.
With 40k on my '13 XLT SuperCrew, having driven plenty of EB's before and since, I'll keep my Coyote. I just wish it had three pedals on the floor.

I have around 8,000 miles on my 2015 coyote V8. I am extremely impressed to say the least. I am getting 18 mpg mixed... I have a heavy foot so I am sure the truck could do better.
The best part is shutting off traction control and putting it in sport mode. It feels like a totally different truck in sport mode. I can believe how fast the thing takes off. I am sooooo glad I went with the coyote and stayed away from the plumbing nightmare that is ecoboost

I love my 5.0, it wasn't even a choice for me... I walked in seen my Truck staring at me, I walked around looking at the other trucks but all I could think about was the Black one and how it was all black grill bumpers everything black..
I hopped in the candy apple one, nope lets go take a look at that Black one!
Hopped in took a ride it was the V8 salesmen wanted me to try the Ecoboost, I was like nope lets go talk how you can get this in my driveway today.
Now after hearing the problems and poor mileage of the Ecoboosts i am elated! 5.0 forever for me its the Flagship!

I am not too happy with my 2011 Coyote right now. It is at the dealer right now to see why it has burned nearly 2 qts of oil in the last 200 miles.
I am fearful that with 95k miles on it, it has a broke ring or some other catastrophic failure.
I searched the forum and all I could find is some 5.0's using a little oil between oil changes, mostly in the first 30k.
As of recently, if my truck sits idling for 5 minutes it will start smoking and rolls a cloud of blue smoke when you step on it after a long idle....

Wow that sucks, I have a 2013 STX 5.0 and I just hit 63k on it I drive 100 miles a day for work its been beast. If your Truck smokes after running definitely sounds like a ring or scoring, as valve seals would leak after sitting in the drive way and smoke at start up.
Lets us know what they find?

Two Different Motors -- Both Good
Nothing wrong with the 5-liter and they will tow lighter loads just fine...But Ford is putting most of its eggs in the EB motors basket because they have more potential for torque production while getting better mpg than the Coyotes. Ford sees the EB as the engine of the future. That is why they invested millions in R&D for the EB -- including their recent return (and class win) to LeMans -- in the EB-powered Ford GT.
I'm completely satisfied with my 2014 4x4 SuperCab 5.0. I use it to tow a car carrier with an old Mustang on it (combo weighs 5000 lbs) and it is completely adequate for that kind of duty. And even towing, it seems to get better mileage than the 2005 modular V8 that I traded in on it.
But if I had something heavy to tow, I'd want to go with the EB or a Super Duty Diesel.

I went from a 2012 3.5 EB to my 2015 5.0 and I agree it seems like Ford is putting the 5.0 in the shadows trying to hype up the ecoboost. It's for a good reason though, however I dont think they really have longevity in mind with the new motors. The main reason I went with the 5.0 was because I plan on keeping this 5.0 truck for a long time. I have always done my own maintenance on vehicles, and owning 2 5.0 mustangs in the past (one procharged) and swapping motors and trans etc, I feel like the 5.0 will be much easier to maintain and last longer than a DI twin turbo v6. I loved the power and torque of the EB but started to get sick of the high maintenance and turbo lag for daily driving. With the coyote it feels like its either taking a slow walk or power walk in daily driving where the EB it was either doing full out sprints or slow jogs, there was no in between. I do wish ford gave the 5.0 more attention but they did rework it a little in 2015 so that was good, they probably wont do much more to it in the next couple years either. Hopefully they dont get rid of it entirely. I guess I shouldnt care though because I plan on keeping this truck for at least 10 years and more. Lets hope they keep making a V8 in the F150 in the next 10 years.
