Default How to change navigation state (voice command)

Driving across the country, I've had several occasions where I'd like to locate and call a hotel for the night in another state. So far, I've been unsuccessful with the Navigation system and have resorted to my smart phone for the task.

I've searched the documentation, manual, and forums for clues on how to change the state in which to navigate. My 2015 F-150 navigation system starts by wanting to know the city. It's assuming Texas. But I want Colorado.

Can someone guide me to a source (or just tell me outright) how to change the state when using voice control of the navigation? I cannot find a menu item.

When it first comes up and tells you what state you're looking in, when it asks for address, say "change state".

Thank you. I'm going to go down and try that right now.

I just read that you have a 2015, so I apologize if the information I gave you was incorrect. I have sync 3 and that's how I do it with that.

Well, it worked! For the first time in a year, I can change the state while driving.

I looked again in the owner's manual and cannot find where it instructs this detail. But nonetheless, I'm happy now.

There's also a setting in there where you can pick if it will assume the state/province you're in, or it will ask you every time. It's handy to change that if you cross borders often.

I think that's what mine is doing . . . assuming by the state in which I am located. In the Panhandle of Texas, couldn't select accommodations in Colorado Springs. Used the iPhone instead. But when in Colorado, it found Colorado Springs no problemo.

Since I'm in Texas 99% of the time, I'll leave as is. But it's good to know now how to change the state by voice command.

Thank you

Can someone tell me how to do this? Every time I use the voice command and ask Find an address, it defaults to Michigan. I would like it to just default to Kentucky without saying Find an address in Kentucky every time.
