if you want to keep your daytime running lights and not hear the ballast, I would do LED. Thats what I have and I am very happy with them

I've had both in the Anzos, I recommend HID, the LEDs were good but I felt the cutoff and distances could be improved so I switched to HIDs and walla, a night and day difference. I got my hids at diode dynamics and I'm sure TRS has some also.

better Led for anzo switchback housing.

Oracle h7 or XHP Series?

Can both of these unit be tucked away back into the housing? is it safe?

Depends on who you ask. Don't put the ballast for any headlight be it hid or led in the housing.

Take the time to go through the rest of the thread ( I know it's huge ) but there's alot of info there.

I have never had HID before I had LED, I am perfectly happy with LED.

I had several HID's, from cheap kits to really expensive kits. They're just notorious for failures and unreliability. Sometimes you luck out, sometimes you don't. Every day I see cars with HID's where one is burned out, or they're flickering and flashing. I stick with LED now because it's a much simpler system. HID's have too many things that can go wrong. They have to ignite the arc using 10's of thousands of volts, need to warm up to get to full brightness, and then need to regulate their power. It's a very high voltage system that needs lots of precision. I just think the LED's are a simpler system that run at low voltage and usually only require a canbus module, and done. But that's just my opinion.
