Do you have a battery from another car you can put in this one to test it out.
may be easiest way to rule out battery because they are hard to prove they are bad At times
anyone clean battery terminal.

My first thought was flood as well with that many electrical "Gremlins".... Even if you bought it new, It's still possible that it was never disclosed.

Do you have another dealer anywhere kinda close that you could try taking it to them? Sometimes a different set of eyes looking at it can change everything. Especially if you aren't happy with the "results" you're getting from your current dealership service department.

Although possible, I don't think this was a "flood" car as we're pretty far away from that kind of weather in the Tacoma area ... although it does rain a lot!! I mentioned about the wiring connectors and tail light full of water ... the guy just laughed and said all of the connections were OK.

I picked it up today after they fixed a rattle in the cupholder, and as I suspected, all of the writeups indicated "cannot duplicate" or "working as designed". On several they did mention error in various modules, but after a rest they were all well so no further diagnosis was needed.

When I got home and hooked up FORSCAN, I noted another list of DTS that were set. After noting them, I performed a reset and all disappeared. I'll check them in a week or so.

Guess I'll have to consider calling Ford and seeing what they can suggest. I'm about at about 33k miles so I need to establish these issues prior to the warranty running out.

Thanks for all of the good suggestions!!

Ken

I called, and Ford opened a case. I've got an appointment for a visit to another dealer in a couple of weeks. I'm not expecting a whole lot of assistance on the electrical issues, although I am hopeful that the one "mechanical" issue may get resolved. (My driver's door squeaks a lot when driving 20-30mph over rough surfaces such as a dirt road. My selling dealer called it "normal". But, this second dealership has a body repair facility and I'm hopeful that they will get someone to look at it that will be more skilled in diagnosis and repair. Otherwise, the piece of duct tape I keep on the striker seems to do a fairly good job at "repairing" it. I would think the $1 billion Ford invested in developing the F-150 would have caught a noisy door on a dirt road ... but, maybe folks don't drive their trucks on dirt roads! )

Cheers!!

I get a slight rattle around the inside door release lever when driving on non-paved roads. I can make it go away if I rest my handle against it. Other than that, my truck is still pretty quiet.

Any update? I have a 16 F150 5.0 lariat 4x4 and am having the same issues. My fog lights were full of water but I have replaced them both and cleared codes. Going out now to see if they are back.

Eventually I called Ford and opened a case. They sent me to another dealer and arranged a week long loaner. The dealer did replace the offending rear backup sensor, and updated a number of modules with new software. The gremlins disappeared after that. Ford also added an additional 2 years of full ESP coverage at no cost.

I was very happy with Ford's response and the rep I worked with was very understanding and helpful.

But, in June we traded our F-150 in to the same dealer who did this final service for a 2020 Explorer ST as the SUV fits our needs a lot better right now. (We found we needed a third row of seats for people much more often than we needed a pickup bed!!). I did notice that they seemed to have auctioned the F-150 out of their system as it never did show up in their used car inventory. Maybe they didn't want to deal with any further issues.

As for the ST ... it's more fun than any driver should have, all in one unit!! 400hp is quite a bit of zing!!

Best of luck!!

Ken

Having major electrical issues for weeks, windows not working, heater not working, seats moving on their own, and about dozen other things. Read this about water in the taillight and remembered I chipped my passenger side rear taillight. Just poured out about a quart of water and I think all the errors cleared. Thank you.
