Default Help with multiple intermittent issues

Have a 2017 Platinum that's just past two years old and has about 32k miles. Just got it back from my dealer and I'm really frustrated with a litany of intermittent electrical/computer issues and their "solutions" ...

To make a LONG story short, since we got it new, we've had minor glitches all over the place. For example:

1) Touch the handle to unlock the door, and the passenger mirrors begins snapping back and forth
2) After a heavy rain, put it in reverse and the left backup sensor glows red and the loud tone sounds ... yet there is nothing behind the vehicle at all. Other three sensors are fine ...
3) Plug my iPhone into Sync3 (fully updated) and the BT audio plays OK, but nothing through the USB hub until I start Apple CarPlay ... then it works
4) Tranny is smooth as silk, except for the 6 times it's banged a gear change at slow speeds so rough I though I'd find metal on the ground!
5) Drive along for 15 minutes with nothing but the Ford logo on the screen, or maybe no map display on the Home screen, for more than an hour
6) A code scanner shows a dozen faults concerning lost signals, or no power available to several different modules:

U204C – Lost communication with Seat Module
B1330 – DC/AC Inverter Module General Failure
B109F – Intrusion Sensor Module
U0155 – Lost communication with Instrument Panel Cluster Control Module
U0253 – Lost communication with Accessory Protocol Interface Module
U0401 – Invalid data received from ECM/PCM
U0452 – Invalid data received from Restraints Control Module
U024C – Lost communication with Seat Control Module
U0140 – Lost communication with Body Control Module

But ... 95% of the time it just purrs with nothing at all wrong!!

I've taken it to the dealer several times and always end up with the "cannot duplicate" answer, even when I can show pictures and videos on the fault occurring.

The most recent time was the first for all the electrical faults showing up, and the service write told me the following: "They all have a U as the first letter. That means it's a voltage issue, commonly seen with a discharged or weak battery. So we ran a battery test on yours and it checks out OK. No idea why these faults were set but they reset so ... nothing to fix."

We love our truck but I'm really getting upset by all of these errors. I totally understand that it's tough to fix something that seems to be working fine. But, it seems to me that with this plethora of error, all connected to electrical issues, that at someone should say "there's something that's causing these errors and we need to get to the bottom of it." But, so far, all I hear is "cannot duplicate." I am planning to call Ford after this latest visit and see if I can request a call from someone who's high enough up the food chain to look into the issues but I'm not very confident that will happen. Unfortunately the intermittent nature of these things I think pretty much precludes me from filing a Lemon Law complaint.

A couple of the videos I have provided to the dealer:

Anyone have any suggestions at all for a course of action?

Thanks!!

Ken

That sounds like a CANBUS issue or maybe a ground. It's going to be difficult to trace, for sure. I'd call Ford Corporate and open a case with them... if they can't figure it out, you should start the buyback process. Yes, intermittent issues can be handled under Lemon Law, although it would be easier for you if Ford would just do a buyback.

Thanks so much ... problems in the wiring seem to me to be the most likely issue, but "they" sure don't seem to be able to or interested in finding out where!!

Update - after presenting full documentation for each of these areas, the initial feedback from the Service Advisor is not very encouraging. They had the truck for 3 days, but an impending bit of winter weather had me get it back before they were "done." It goes back in tomorrow.

The SA's initial comments were "cannot duplicate" over and over. One item he specifically mentioned were the error codes. He said they were symptoms of a bad or failing battery, however they did a complete charging/battery test and all checked out OK. So, I said, what does that mean? He shrugged his shoulders and said "nothing's wrong …"

I think I'll probably call Ford as soon as I get the final "repair" sheets and seek their advice/help.

I actually do not want to go through the Lemon Law process and we (otherwise) love our truck … and it's 0% loan!! But, I don't think that a truck with a $67k sticker should have all of these pesky issues!!

I just read a thread where the user was having a whole lot of weird electrical issues and it ended up being one of his talilights was filled with water? Worth a shot?

Its frustrating when they can't find the problem for the techs also. Its almost better if its just broken. Even though you like the truck, I'd probably start the buy back with Ford.

Yeah, I know that this will probably be a course of action. I run a small IT company so I understand precisely how tough it is to fix intermittent issues ... but it seems our trucks don't have a "reinstall the OS with a clean drive" option that generally fixes almost everything!!

Mine used to do the rear sensor after rain/snow/ice/cold thing... Cleaned the connectors, and added dielectric grease and the problem went away.

Yours sounds like you have a bunch of electrical connectivity issues... Has your truck been in a flood?
