Yes that is how it works, a "good deal" would be invoice minus all applicable incentives offered at time of order or time of delivery (but not both). Rebates ($4500) do not come out of the dealers "profit". This money comes from Ford of Canada (or Ford USA). So in your case, $39,899 - $4500 = $35,399 plus applicable taxes and fees. This would probably be a best case scenario providing the dealer sells at "invoice" As I said before, in Canada there is an approximate $5000 between "invoice" and "MSRP"
Good luck in your negotiations
Damn... how do I even start to negotiate that? I have two dealers basically sitting at $39000 and don't feel they will budge at all.. Is it too early in the season? They must be moving trucks at that "avg joe" price, and know that people will buy at that.
That's horribly expensive for an XLT. You're paying almost 50,000 for a basic model. Get a used Raptor, Harley, or Limited for way cheaper. In a couple of years, trade it in for a nicer model 2015. Does anyone else think an XLT is worth that much?
I just came from dealer after signing final paperwork, and here is how my build breaks down if it helps: Listed as "other" is FX4 package, navigation, towing package, etc. I got custom black leather with red stitching which is why that may be a bit higher than others.

So, from my understanding, this is basically MSRP pricing less 5500 in rebates?
Had much better experience with them than Unhaggle!
Good luck!
I have used car cost Canada with good success ! No problem getting very close to invoice minus rebates. Just be patient and you will find a dealer that will sell to you at invoice. It also gives you financing rates too.
Ya the MSRP prices in Canada are high, especially on the high end models. It is what it is.
