I've never heard of reliability problems regarding the sl1. They're actively cooled, but I can only hear them with the engine off. I do have a magnaflow cat back though. Taking the whole light out was much easier for me, but I have flexibility issues so ymmv. It definitely helped with taking them out and adjusting the tab collar. I feel it was a easier and faster approach.

I thought all Lariats came with the factory LED headlights? Well, that is what I have on my truck and the lighting is great at night

Only the Lariat 502A package. 500A and 501A have LED tails but halogen heads.
