Default Has for Ecoboost

What is the deal with Gas on Ecoboost? I have the 3.5 in my new 2016fx4 screw. I always used highest octane possible in my SVO mustang. Would that be the same case for the Eco? Also any one run non ethanol gas? I have tons of non-ethanol stations around me!

Here in Oregon they won't pump non-ethanol gas into any newer vehicle. Has to be an off-road toy or classic.

Search out I believe there is a big thread on this subject

The manual states that you can run anything 87 octane and higher, and up to 15% ethanol content. It goes on to state that premium is recommended for best performance and/or towing.

And yes - non-ethanol is just fine.

You know that higher octane levels mean nothing in a low compression engine right? It s a waste of money.

Ummm it's 10:1 compression plus 12-13 PSI of boost! 87 is fine but mine runs noticeably better on Shell 93, especially when pulling the boat.

From my understanding, the trucks were certified on 87, so we can run anything, but are tuned in such a way that they will adjust themselves to take advantage of higher octane if you put it in. I'd guess they were rated (hp/tq/mpg) on 91 or 93 so they could brag with the best numbers possible, but I don't know that one for certain. Of course, they could have rated them on 87, and just let us give ourselves more as a treat if we choose to put higher in. Anyone know how they handled the ratings?

All the Ecoboost motors are usually rated on premium gas. All the product source books and even brochures have an * by the hp ratings, says "on premium fuel"

I run 87 octane 10% ethanol in mine. I tried 93 and didn't notice and difference in performance. I have run non ethanol in mine too. Got much better millage with it. I hate ethanol so I run the non as much as I can. Only get every few week though
