Read this post to get the word on the "mid sticker price" directly from the master of the game.

Or this post for toptobottom's thoughts on a slightly higher priced truck.

If you don't want to read those, I'll spoil it for you - my math is right.

I'm not sure why there's any confusion about what the MSRP is. The blue box flat out states what "Total MSRP" is.

Dealer discounts happen *after* total MSRP.

Using that equation, then I got screwed outta 2,254.

But there is no way the dealer was going to sell me a truck using that formula.

I seen the invoice, I seen his holdback. There was no more money left to give.

Truck was 36300 (minus the 2,000 package savings)

So 34300 - 12% = 30625 - 5050 in rebates = 25575 ( by formula)

Dealer > 36300 - 3421 in discounts - 5050 rebates = 27829

There was no where left to give me another 2,254.

If my math is wrong, please point it out.

I don't see you taking into account destination charges in your calculation... so yes... your math is wrong.

Only by $139. (after recalculating with the dest charge)

But still no way the dealer could sell me that truck for the price in the formula.

That's totally wrong on that website. There is more than 1250 in rebates on that truck, so dealer has some of the manufacturer rebates included in his "dealer discount", or there are more rebates that aren't listed.
That ad needs further clarification from the dealer.

If the msrp in the bluebox was 34300 and you got a dealer discount of 3421 then you got a dealer discount of 10.37%. 3421 / (34300 - 1295). The dealer never paid the package discounts in the first place.
