Default Future F150 Updates

I know we will possibly see the 10 speed tranny very soon, but what other things are rumored?? New Ecoboost 3.5? Anything else worth mentioning? Im holding out for an update on this current gen. I have been tempted more than once to trade in my 2010 Lariat, but I rather wait for an update of what is currently out. Any realistic date for a 10 speed hitting the showrooms?

They are updating the sync to gen 3 for 2016 rumour mill has as early as late availability 2015 but all by end of 2016 as far as 10 speed tranny at this point it's rumour likely to be seen in the 2017 Raptor before introduced to the F150

I was hoping the 10 speed would come way before 2017 model. I know the current tranny is killer, but you always want the next best thing.

Yea I hear Ya, believe me I was all set to order the 2015 been waiting since they introduced the Atlas concept, but since I heard about the upgrade of the sync system I've been himming and hawing over it and since it isn't a software update it's got me sitting on the fence. For the same reason, I mean I probably would be fine with present one being that my 07 doesn't have at all but like you said next best thing. Between you and me I won't be able to wait lol

I'm also hoping for the 10 speed to come soon. I think it is the last big upgrade (i hope it will be a big upgrade) we will see to the f-150 for a long time along with some new engine or improvement to the current engines. Really depends who you ask. Some websites reported the 10 speed would arrive for the new 2015 model. It was first spotted likely testing in summer of 2013. (camouflaged f-150 spotted at the GM proving grounds). Some people say it won't arrive in the regular f-150 until 2018. My best guess is 50 percent chance it arrives in model year 2016, 30 percent 2017, and 20 percent 2018.

The new 10 speed and a new engine are the ONLY improvements I am hoping for with the f150 for the foreseeable future, except for maybe fixing any issues/problems with the new model.

Whats the big deal about 10 speed?
Seems like there was a lot of hype when RAM went to 8 speed. I test drove those a bunch of times, didn't seem like anything special.

At the introduction of the new Raptor, Ford did say that the Raptor WILL have the all new 10 speed transmission. The F150 will follow in 2018.

Yes, while I would be surprised if the Eco version used in the '17 Raptor would be shared across the product line and will be unique to the Raptor, I think an "update" of the current 3.5 Eco is on its way. Not 100% sure, but does not Lincoln have an SUV with a 3.5 Eco that is rated at 385HP? I bet it is all due to tuning. Then look at the numbers for the new 2.7 Eco. This thing is putting out 325 HP from just 2.7 Liters. If the current 3.5 Eco was just as efficient it would produce 420 HP! Some of that engineering work its way to the 3.5? I guess I hope and believe that Ford will go down this path with the 3.5, but just when also remains the problem.

More to go wrong, more expensive to repair/replace. Latest isn't always the greatest.
