Future F150 Updates
Yes, while I would be surprised if the Eco version used in the '17 Raptor would be shared across the product line and will be unique to the Raptor, I think an "update" of the current 3.5 Eco is on its way. Not 100% sure, but does not Lincoln have an SUV with a 3.5 Eco that is rated at 385HP? I bet it is all due to tuning. Then look at the numbers for the new 2.7 Eco. This thing is putting out 325 HP from just 2.7 Liters. If the current 3.5 Eco was just as efficient it would produce 420 HP! Some of that engineering work its way to the 3.5? I guess I hope and believe that Ford will go down this path with the 3.5, but just when also remains the problem.
I liked both motors, but the 5.0 was so silky smooth that it won me over. Sounds great, pulls well, and it gave me more peace of mind over the long haul (10+ years). If I towed a bunch and could trade trucks every few years, I might go 3.5.
out of it before he starts adding all his crap to the back. Then I will go to the local dealer and drive the
out of an Eco and see what is what. I know the Eco has the torque but I keep trucks for a very long time as well and would also like to have that piece of mind. What I tow now my 5.4 does great, but I do plan on getting a 7500 travel trailer so maybe an Eco could be the way. The wife also wants a new Explorer with the 2.3 eco so I might have to give that a shot. I also plan on keeping that for at least 10 years. Hopefully it lasts. lol
If what ford did to the 12th gen is any indication you won't see the 10-speed / updated 3.5TT and sync until the mid cycle refresh, so 2017.
Ford introduced the new engine line up in 2011 or the third production year of the 12th generation.
I expect the new sync system updated 3.5TT and tranny to do the same.
Give it a year to have some bugs worked out and I'd say you'll be holding out for a 2018 realistically.
If you can't wait that long get a 2016 with the 6-speed. Its an awesome proven transmission which will be far less problematic than the 10-speed during it's first production year IMO.

I too would like to see some optional wheels for the Platinum. These get by but really do nothing for me.
Why don't they offer an Optional level / lift from the factory. Seems like it is real popular.

Rims would also be a good update. I really like those 20 gray ones though.
No, but it will absolutely have a heated tampon dispenser built in
I wish I could, I've already said too much lol I'll have to let everyone live in suspense for the news
