Has anyone used a company like Monroe to do the install?

I purchased and self-installed rear Bilstein 5100s from 4WP…$224.00.
I obtained quotes from 2 locally respected 4x4 shops for parts and labor to install the fronts…the quotes were just shy of $1,200.00 with 5-6 week lead time!

(A local Ford dealership: “We don’t install customer provided parts!)

I chose 4WP.
Out-the-door parts & labor…$918.28.
Included alignment and eccentric cam kits.
3 days to receive the parts…better part of 1 day to install.
I’m happy…no curse words, blood, sweat, pinched fingers, tool rental, or dirty clothes!

No it was not. There is a small repair shop in my small town that does a little off-road stuff, he said he had done a few sets, and had just bought a new wall mount spring compressor.
I failed to mention, that was just for the install of the Billsteins. I had made an appointment for an alignment at a shop in my area, known for having good alignment services. It was $75 bucks if I remember.

The day I had it done, and winter wheels on.
I went 1 3/4”. I now regret doing that. It has settled slightly and wish it had a little less rake.
Still happier than with the stock height and ride.

It is a common practice to realign the front end afterwards. I did.
It can vary. I paid $170 for the front end swap. But that did include installing my winter tires/wheels, but a guide, anyway.
You should have only been charged to change the rear wheels. The fonts were already off, labor for tire removal and installation should be rolled in to the shock replacement. LOL

Just paid $300 today to have front and rear Bilstein 5100's installed and got an alignment.

Find a local mechanic and offer them cash.

Just did 4600's all around on a 21 screw 4x4. Very disappointed and cant recommend. And I loved my last set of 5100's so im certainly a bilstein fan. I wish I had tried the fox 2.0 and regret my choice.

I have run the halo lifts coilovers and now the 6112's in the front and the 5100's in the rear. I hate 6112's, they ride really rough, stiff. I will be switching to the halo lifts aluma coilovers this xmas.

The 4600s are the same internals as the 5100s, just not for a lift?

kind of. 5100 is more for aftermarket oversized tires and wheels.

I know they have said that but its not been my experience here. Not even close. Bilstein is looking into it. they felt possibly the wrong model year was supplied and noted even if they fit up the same the valving is different and it could be causing my poor experience. Just wish I'd left the '21 OEM shocks on it as they were better than previous OEM but still too soft and would lean easy as well as bounce a few times if you pulled up on a curb or something. But they were really nice going 80 down the interstate. I'm thinking now the heavier sway bar might have been a better move.

Although much firmer than I'd like, the 5100's did such a good job fixing all the other issues back on my 2016 that I thought it was the easy improvement to just do shocks. And from all these posts it sounded like the 4600 would be equal to the 5100 but softer. Just didn't work out that way for me.
