Had Fox 2.0 coilovers installed on my 16 Lariat Screw 4x4. Have to have the ride height adjusted because it's sitting at least 1/2 inch higher up front than out back even though I requested 1.75 to 2.0 and level for the setting.

The ride quality up front is very bouncy, a lot of rebound over minor road imperfections. Far bouncier than stock, almost feels like just riding directly on springs.

Taking it back in to have looked at / adjusted but certainly feels like something is wrong. Haven't heard anyone install the 2.0s and end up with a front high rake or complain about a ton of rebound up front. Almost feels like just riding on springs with no compression of the shock.

Anyone with experience have any thoughts as to likely issues? Thanks in advance.

If the front is sitting 1/2 inch higher up front, there is too much preload in the springs so now you are riding really stiff.

Your front is probably sitting close to 3"

You will need to be around 2-2.5" to be leveled with the rear.

Thanks. Didn't think it was even possible to get that much lift from the Fox 2.0s. I did measure though and it's at least 1/2 higher up front

Also, it does take some time for the 2.0's to break in as well.

Have you replaced the rear shocks, too? Wondering if you might also be feeling a noticeable difference between the stiffer front and the stock rear. It does, however, sound like you might need to adjust your front coils down a touch and let them settle.

I'm wondering on the fox 2s...they say zero to 2" but with rhe new aluminium body and in my case the 2.7..maybe the light weight is sending the 150s up to high?

Replaced the rears with Fox 2.0s as well.

Yea it wasn't a this is slightly stiffer feeling...it was more of a these things may not be compressing at all feeling.

Heading back tomorrow for adjustment. Question was more because even at full height, I wouldn't expect a ride like that.

A lifted truck will always ride like a lifted truck. Coilovers are designed for off road performance, if you took you truck down a trail at speed it'd feel much smoother than it does when driving slowly on a choppy road. I'm new to the F150 platform but not new to the off road performance world.



Where did you get your coilovers from? What is the spring rate? If it was a shop that rebuilds shocks than they can revalve them for you to your specifications. Start with getting rid of some of the preload though.

I put Fox 2.0s on my 2016 3.5L just a few weeks ago. I got exactly 2.25" out of them stock, making me dead level. Ride was composed, but firm. I dropped them 4 turns to 1.75" giving me nearly a 1/2" rake. Ride is ever so slightly softer, but smooth except over the most broken pavement.

I'm very surprised about your ride, not at all what I experienced.

It may have too much preload as stated above but I know my fox 2.5 coilovers where pretty harsh for a while till they broke in. 1000 miles made a difference. Then at 3000 miles it made another big difference. Plus they are nitrogen shocks. I don't know about how long your daily commute or anything is but due to the nitrogen the shocks still ride a little rough till they warm up. After they warn up they smooth out. After that the longer you drive the better the ride is.
