1st time using Forscan - keep getting extended license needed message
I posted this on the Forscan Forum a few days ago but got no replies.
I'm using FORScan v2.8.3 or whatever the latest version is they show. Also using a Win10 laptop with a OBDLink MX bluetooth adapter. When I connect to my 2016 F150 XLT I see a list of modules but when I click on any module and click the Play button - I keep getting a message that says I need an extended license. I thought that was only needed for PATS? That was a few days ago. I went out again today with the laptop and I get the same crap. Should be as simple as falling off a bicycle, but it ain't. Thanks for any help with this.

Garnet - be aware that the license expires every 60 days; you need to wait until AFTER it expires to renew - just go back to the FORScan forum, login & re-apply for the license.
And to make it easier for us to answer your questions, edit your signature with details of your truck.

Worked on my 2017. Thanks man this was driving me crazy...
2017 F150 - How to disable auto stop/start:
Please verify in 2015's and 2016's.
2017's will show in the trip/fuel menu when it's disabled and list a specific reason.
I'm not sure if 15's and 16's have that menu and may require road testing to confirm.
The 2017 stop/start will look like it's enabled after a full power off and ignition cycle; however, as soon as you drive and stop the charging notification will appear in the trip/fuel - stop/start message center (which none of us ever look at anyway).
The stop/start message center in trip/fuel might only be on 2017's (unconfirmed). It can be enabled by setting:
720-01-01: xxxx 3xxx xxxx
To summarize,
I think a full auto stop/start disable would look something like this:
BCM 726-48-02 x0xx xxxx xx
FCIM 7A7-01-01 xxxx x0xx xx (optional - disables switch)
IPC 720-01-01 xxxx 1xxx xx (optional - disables stop/start message center in the trip/fuel IPC menu [on 2017]'s)
I left my IPC stop/start message center enabled so I can monitor it in real time.
I look forward to learning if this works in other Fords.

Didn't see any Blis options in the spreadsheet you've made, Livinitup. Totally appreciate the major hours you've put into this BTW. Just wondering if you know what actually the differences are in blis from '16 to '17 now that the '17's will encapsulate the trailer with blis as well as truck. I have checked the tail lights from my '16 to a local '17 and those are the same, tryed to download the asbuilt for that 17 to compare, but https://www.motorcraftservice.com/asbuilt is showing errors processing request
vin for that one to compare is 1FTEW1CG2HFB18286 But maybe it's just a module we all could upgrade to get that feature while towing

It seems like it's another firmware roadblock preventing this. I looked into this when the 2017s first came out and tried their values in SODL/SODR/TRM/IPC but was unable to get it working. As soon as a trailer is connected the BLIS is disabled. Also on 2017s there is an option in IPC menu under trailer setup for having BLIS on/off with each named trailer that we're unable to do with our firmware.

Guess we need to grease the Ford Geek who wrote the software, if one could ever locate him, then have him make up a program where you could enter your vin then the options you want for FOREScan and have it write a custom asbuilt for your truck, Oh wait I'll bet that's been done at the factory already, Now how do we get our hands on that?

It's gonna be a long road toward getting this to work if it's possible. Flashing your existing module firmware isn't something to jump into with both feet, you need the right hardware & software and shouldn't be attempted unless you have spare modules in case something with the flash goes horribly wrong. It's definitely nothing in the radio cluster (APIM) and PCM. It's definitely the IPC firmware and most likely the SODL/SODR also and possibly also TRM. I may have more info on this when I get my spare IPC cluster flashed or when I find a 2017 cluster for sale.
