FordPass Message Sync Update
I got a message on my Ford Pass dated Feb 21 2020 saying to get the updated Sync for my 2019 F150, did the USB download and nothing updated, didn't seem like anything happened at all, anyone else try this or have any updates to what is going on??
Thx

I've downloaded the files to my laptop and have a thumbdrive handy but haven't seen the need or felt the desire to perform the update(s) yet. I've read numerous comments about nothing "appears" to have changed except for maybe some new streets being on the updates, but then again, in 6 months, the update will be out of date.
I used the nav system this past weekend on a trip for the first time in maybe 6 months, it worked fine, got me to the location I needed to be at w/o issue.

I got this message for my 2018 XLT as well but haven't attempted it yet. Ive never been able to find out what is actually different though or whether its worth it. Hopefully someone will chime in and let us know.
SYNC software pdates are different from the Navigation updates. Both types exist and are different so I wouldn't expect a SYNC software update to impact navigation as much as a map update would.

Don't know if this will help with your problem or not but this is what worked for me. I bought a new 32 gig. 3.0 USB drive, downloaded the file from the Ford website. So far all was good. When I went to unzip the file on my USB drive, I got an error message that it could not unzip all the files. I tried several things to get it to work but it would not. I just gave up. Well yesterday I was at my dealership and mentioned it to the service advisor. He had an 2018 just like mine and told me that he had the same problem. So he contacted a Ford engineer about it and the guy told him to go up to a 64 gig. USB drive and that should resolve the issue. So on my way back home yesterday, I stopped and bought the 64 gig. Got home, downloaded the zip file again and wa la. It worked flawlessly. It did tale a minute to start the update in my truck which made me a little nervous but it said "Update in Progress". Took maybe 15 or 20 minutes. So give the 64 gig USB a try. Maybe it will work for you.
