Had to replace all 24 on my 2013 F150. Dealer said they were swollen from water freezing inside the caps. I believe they were $4.71 each at the time.

$4.71 x 24 = $113.04

Went to NAPA and bought all 24, same design, for around $75.

When I got the 2015 F150, one of the first things I did was to order Gorilla Nuts.

So yeah, I got Gorilla Nuts too.

This is not true. Mine have only been removed & installed by hand with the correct socket and torque wrench. Last summer when I was rotating my tires, about 1/2 of my Lug nuts got so stuck in the socket that I had to put the socket in a vice and pound the lugs out with a hammer & punch. Switched to Gorilla nuts and moved on from the OEM POS.

UAW has nothing to do with Ford design or parts. they build as instructed. the nuts installed at factory are torqued by a big gun that tightens all nuts at the same time and are monitored and recorded values. no impact guns. it is a monster six pack gun.

Hi, my Airstream trailer has the same type of lug nuts on it too. I bought two 1/2" drive, deep, thin wall, six point, impact sockets from Snap-on. One is 19mm for my trailer and the other is 21mm for my Lincoln and F-150. My trailer is 13 years old and still has the original lug nuts. In your defense, people on the Airstream forum have the same lug nut problem from using the wrong tools.

I understand that. I was making the point it's a bad design.

If the class action suit is won, all it's most likely going to do is add cost to the trucks with more expensive lug nuts. All probably because of an over zealous impact gun user. They should be proud of themselves.
