Default fog light tap

OK, hoping for someone smarter than me having a great idea to help me out. A while back I swapped out the stock fogs for Diode Dynamic SS3 Max yellow fogs (which I love) and the kit has the required H10 to 2 pin DT adapter. I have decided to add a rear fog light to the truck and my plan includes a rear fog light momentary switch with latching relay and Hella rear fog light. I got a couple of parts from Starkey Products that I though would make it very simple to make a wiring harness to use the factory fogs for the switched power for the rear fog light. Front fogs not on means no rear fog light on and if you turn the rear fog light on when you shut the truck off or front fogs off they rear goes out.

Here's my problem. I cannot get my hand in the little opening to unplug the included DD plug to swap out to the double DT plug. Also unlike the OEM fog lights you cannot pop the DD Ford kit out with a couple of thin blades.

So, where would be the best place to tap into the fog light system, is there somewhere in the interior? I am guessing the switch is just a signal to the BCM and won't do what I need.

Thanks in advance.

This harness adapter would make things simple and easy but I really don't want to spend another $44 if I don't have to.

I think it's the price of making things simple

I was about to say unbolt the 'chassis' part the fog light sits inside of so you can work on it, but then remembered the 13th gen probably doesn't have that.

Was able to get to it after moving the front of the splash shield out of the way.

Trying to figure out how "easy" it would be to mount some SS3 driving lights behind the grille and use their light duty harness into the cab....

getting the wires into the cab is a royal PITA. Here's what I did with mine and would do it again without question. I have a tap from the high beams so the come on automatically. Also have rough country's remote trigger activated by a homelink button if I should want ro turn them on without the highs or want the highs on but driving lights off.

Hmm, that's an interesting way of getting round wiring into the cab. Might look into that, otherwise hoping to to find a grommet somewhere i can use, or just trace under the cab like the AMP step wiring does and into a floor grommet. Do you run backlights with your fronts?

Wondering if amber backlit versions sat behind the grille would be good, or too much.

It might give a nice\cool variation of the raptor lighting or it might look like something weird is going on.

Only 1 way to find out. If you don't like it just unplug the backlight wire.
