Default FMPP vs. ESP? What's the difference??

So the dealership had an "incident" with my 5 day old truck. was my reaction. I should be getting it back next week, but they will have had it as long as I have since getting the truck.

As compensation, they are offering some sort of service package. (details pending further discussions)

As a newbie I'm a little confused about these offered packages.

Is there a difference between the FMPP and the ESP? I think it makes sense to avoid the 6 Month/8,000km version, as it reads "serviced according to Special Operating Condition as outlined in your Owner's Manual".

Any guidance/suggestions?

Well, there is Google...

FMPP - covers SERVICE

ESP - covers REPAIRS. Warranty extension.

While many consider both not worth getting, if you are getting something for free the ESP would be the way to go.

take the ESP - The longest one you can get. If you can, get a 7 year and 100000 miles one (or what they offer in the US) AND a premium care one

Here is some info http://fordprotect.ford.com/premiumcare

7-year, 75,000 miles is what I was offered in Texas.

Thanks all.

I just called my salesperson, as the dealership hasn't gotten back to me yet.

Long term ESP, plus a lifetime warranty on the repair and paint for this area will be my starting point.

Just out of curiosity, what happened to your truck?

Without know how bad the damage is, this point should not be negotiable. Any body shop worth their salt offers lifetime warranty on their repairs in my experience.

I will elaborate after discussions with the dealer are done. I'm unlikely to get my beautiful new truck back until Monday or Tuesday of the coming week, so they will have had it for more time than I have. Sniff.

I have mentioned to them that if I'm happy with the outcome, I will say so on social media. If I'm not happy with the outcome, I will also say so on social media.

We're playing phone-tag at the moment, and they're "It".

The body shop mentioned I should be pursuing the dealer for this. If the shop disappears, the dealer is likely to still be around.

Just make sure not to pay for a better ESP package. And FYI, Ford coverage covers North America. You can get a much cheaper deal by buying an ESP from an American company even if you live in Canada, and you'll be covered in Canada and the US. And by much cheaper, I mean half the price or better. Look into it.
