Default Flush bug shield

Anybody ever tried to paint one of these to match the factory color? I have a decent dent in the front of my hood right on the edge, got quoted $250 to repair it. I dont really like the look of the big bug shields, thought this might be a cheaper alternative...

If you're going to paint it, get a clear one and paint the back side of it. I've been looking at the Stampede 2153-1 model for my 2018.

the pics of the matte textured black one look really nice

Does this help keep bugs off the windshield or just hood?

I was looking for some type of hood protection as well...getting chips from stones on highway.
I couldn't find any positive remarks on the bug/stone deflectors especially the adhesive ones.

Now I know some will disagree with me but I went with this below...the hood part installs separately so I put it on (takes less than 5 seconds) for shorter highway runs and I install the full front end cover for the really long road trips.

Its sort of old school but it works for me.

(this is not my truck pictured but I have a 2018 Lariat 502a with sport appearance)

Looks like it would be more at home on an '85 Camaro with a mullet or two blowing in the wind. J/k, it is not my flavour but its not my truck.

Ya I hear ya! and I would agree...but i figure looking like the wedding singer once in a while to protect my front end was worth it.

One of the bug shield companies sell prepainted ones in most common colors for Ford trucks, Amazon or ebay should have them.

What color is your truck? I bought the smoke AVS deflector and it is not very noticeable on my truck. You can see it more in the pics than in person.

I have the matte black avs aeroskin 2 and love it. Doesn't really keep bugs of the windshield, but protects the hood well. Prep is key in the stick on ones. Mines been on since last winter and isn't showing any signs of going anywhere. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. The 2 version has solid 3m adhesive all the way across top and bottom, which is why I chose it. Matte black looks great on my leadfoot truck too.
