Anybody ever tried to paint one of these to match the factory color? I have a decent dent in the front of my hood right on the edge, got quoted $250 to repair it. I dont really like the look of the big bug shields, thought this might be a cheaper alternative...

I have the matte black avs aeroskin 2 and love it. Doesn't really keep bugs of the windshield, but protects the hood well. Prep is key in the stick on ones. Mines been on since last winter and isn't showing any signs of going anywhere. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. The 2 version has solid 3m adhesive all the way across top and bottom, which is why I chose it. Matte black looks great on my leadfoot truck too.

Yeah, as long as your factory color is black, silver, or magnetic you're in business. No race red or electric blue that I've seen, definitely no leadfoot or abyss grey. I wouldn't hesitate to paint one of the shiny versions to match your truck, if you really feel the need to have it match.
