Default Five Star bumper grille

Here is my installation thread for the Five Star Auto Accessories bumper grille that matches either a Raptor style grille or a Special Edition style grille. The company is located in Lloydminster, Alberta (Canada) and they customized my grille by cutting out the honeycomb mesh on the inner layer of the grille from end to end instead of just in the middle. Even though it shows the nuts that attach the bumper to the frame, I painted the bumper nuts and the bumper flange with matte black paint. I also used button-head style bolts and lock nuts instead of the rivets and push pins that were supplied with the grille.

@Brad2013FX4 : Your post on the "What did you do to your truck today" thread led me to ordering the grille.
@Threeper88 : You were jealous of owners without front plates,... it can be done even with an unsightly front plate.
@Canuck86 : You wanted to see the modification after I was done.

Angled view

Close up of middle fasteners and license plate holder

Close up view of end fasteners. Because I didn't use the supplied push pins in favor of button-head bolts and nylon lock nuts, the nuts at the bottom corners were very difficult to insert behind the grille with the very limited space in front of the frame horns and bumper nuts...

So I had to MacGyver this tool to reach in behind the grille while making sure the nut would stay in the wrench while I was tightening the bolt up front. I had to loosen and drop the middle of the bumper apron to be able to reach in between the frame horns and the grille.

You can get one to match the Special Edition and STX grilles' honeycomb mesh from the same vendor.

As mentioned, they do. Below is what I did regarding my 2018.

As done above by the OP, painting that inner area black goes a long way on a non black truck. Especially, if you do what I did with the two bumper pad areas. Didn't have to do that as my truck is already black. I modified my lower grille a little for my application. See more on post 10769 at https://www.f150forum.com/f118/what-...379/index1077/. It will make more sense once you read the link.

I considered grinding out the parts of the flange that were not needed to attach the new grille, but once I got done with installation, I realized that painting them black makes them less conspicuous and really noticeable only if you look up close. I even painted the bumper bolts and nuts that were silver so they wouldn't stand out too much.

Awesome so I have to call them due to the fact that they do not have a website.
