Default Fitting Out Tow Package

Hi Folks. Recently acquired a 2020 screw 3.5eb 4x4. I purchased the truck with the medium duty 53B towing package, or non towing package depending on what you want to call it. Through my reading here and crawling under the truck, I’ve determined the only difference in structural towing equipment to be the front stabilizer bar. My stock bar is the hollow one. While I don’t do much heavy towing, I’d like the capability for piece of mind. As such, I just placed the order for the solid front stabilizer bar. From what I can tell it’s just a swap out, bolt up, and torque to spec. Any suggestions or is this a pretty self explanatory job.

As for the stabilizer bar, yes fairly straight forward. I would have to check the parts catalog but you may make sure that the links and brackets will accommodate the new bar.
Here is a link to the tow package configurations. https://www.ford.com/cmslibs/content...F150_Oct15.pdf

Believe links and brackets are the same.

Going from this: https://parts.ford.com/shop/en/us/tr...-1#partMatched

To this: https://parts.ford.com/shop/en/us/tr...izer-6529093-1

And more specifically, from JL34-5494-AC to JL3Z-5482-B

Have you actually verified the part number of the bar on your truck?

[QUOTE][/I suggest before anyone assumes they don't have the FL3Z-5482-B stabilizer bar, they check with Ford's Parts Dept. and verify by their specific VIN# the stabilizer their truck was shipped with.

My vehicle does NOT have the Max. Trailer Tow (has 5.0L with Trailer Tow Pkg.) yet it has the FL3Z-5482-B Stabilizer bar. Therefore there is no need to upgrade this part.

Yes sir. I crawled under just to be sure. I don’t have the 53A tow package either, that’s what I am aiming to self upgrade to.
