Default First Ford .. build comments wanted

In a few months I'm placing an order for my first Ford ever .. all Chevrolet until now, also all HD trucks, this will be my first 1/2 ton as well. I'd welcome any input or advise relating to this order you might notice ..

XLT 301a, supercab, 8 foot bed, 4x4, 3.5 TT, hd payload/max tow .. those are the major items, would probably like the console, trailer mirrors and maybe power convenience group .. thoughts?

I would also get the tailgate step and BLIS mirrors.

The things I miss can't be had in an XLT, but I'm not willing to upgrade to get them. It just wouldn't kill Ford to offer Homelink as an option on all trucks.

That truck is going to be awesome. The 8ft bed is so nice to have, don’t let anyone talk you out of it

Indeed ... apparently they are rare, not a single one in Texas, Ford found 3 nationwide ... idk how accurate their search is, but there aren't many out there .. I haven't been able to lay eyes on a sc with a 8" bed, only seen pictures, which is irritating.

Get the Reverse Sensing System because the truck is long and you'll save your rear bumper from crashing into things.

I'm not sure if you can get it in XLT but the 360 camera is awesome. I know two guys with XLTs, both of them wish they had leather. I think you can get Katskin installed at the dealer or you can obviously do it aftermarket. Don't forget to buy your aftermarket lug nuts!

I'm not a Ford guy either, I actually am a Toyota truck guy and then a Chevy guy but Ford was the best option followed by RAM. I've been very happy with my purchase and the aftermarket is awesome for it. Welcome to the club.

Yes, the reverse system is on my 2019 XLT. So you can get it. Be sure to upgrade your lights to LEDs after you get the truck. Much better than what comes with the truck.
Center console is nice. Lots of storage space.

I'd want to step up to a 302A at least, bigger screen and remote start are must-haves that will come with it.

I've had leather in my past trucks and don't care for it, fabric seems so much more comfortable, of course it could have something to do with the road kill gm used for their seat leather in the past ..
